Project partners

Although faculty and staff in the SpARC Lab at NMSU conducted the work documented at this site under contract with Doña Ana County as part of the Viva Doña Ana Project, we had considerable assistance from many partners whose assistance we greatly appreciate. As noted at the link on the data cooperative Web portal, interested GIS&T professionals in the Paso del Norte region met several times from early 2013 to spring of 2015 to advance work on the Users Group and data portal, and these people were very helpful in guiding the work on the project, sharing data via both the hosting of REST services and direct data transfers, and sharing insights on related GIS&T issues. The goals of the Users Group are:

               •     Exploration of models by which the data cooperative could be advanced,
               •     Support discussions on geospatial data sharing and joint data acquisition, and
               •     Development of an active forum for sharing best practices, “tips and tricks.”

From early 2013 to spring of 2015, the Users Group met five times, and very productive discussions occurred at these meetings on the topics note above. Links to agendas and minutes from these meetings and also a roster of interested GIS professionals that attended the meetings or expressed interest in the related topics are provided below. During our work, we also received extensive input from members of the Camino Real Consortium and Regional Leadership Committee. We acknowledge the help of all of these people that took time out of their busy work schedules to help with the Users Group and Data Cooperative. Below, we provide a link to a current roster of people involved in these groups and the agendas and minutes from the User Group meetings.

Although the contact that NMSU has with Dona Ana County on this project expired on 30 June 2015, the SpARC Lab and NMSU Department of Geography have agreed to host and update this site in the future.
